It is an optical measurement system consisting of a transmitting and receiving bar.

Each of these contains 96 leds (1.0416cm resolution).
The leds on the transmitting bar communicate continuously with those on the receiving bar. The system detects any interruptions in communication between the bars and calculates their duration.

This makes it possible to measure flight and contact times during the performance of a series of jumps with an accuracy of 1/1000 of a second. Starting from these fundamental basic data, the dedicated software makes it possible to obtain a series of parameters connected to the athlete’s performance with the maximum accuracy and in real time.

The absence of moving mechanical parts ensures accuracy and great reliability. 

The new Witty has been designed to fully satisfy timing requirements connected to the new training methods.

Completely innovative in concept, the LinkGate radio transmission system is a state-of–the-art device for wireless transmission of timing signals. The system consists of a very small Encoder (for the transmission of impulses) which can be connected to any gate, photocell or device with a normally open contact, and a Decoder (receiving device).

The two large buttons on EncRadio, which can be pressed even with ski gloves on, allow rapid setting of the competitor number on the display. The system will thus transmit to the receiving stopwatch not only the event taken but also the bib number to assign it to.

LinkGate can be used in combination with the Racetime2 and REI2 stopwatches and also allows remote control of the MicroTAB alphanumeric displayboards and the MicroGRAPH graphic displayboards.

Thanks to our technological and commercial partnership with Lynx System Developers  Inc. the LinkGate can be used with the FinishLynx photofinish. To meet the various requirements of the world of timing, Microgate has created three families of LinkGate products, all of which have an embedded radio module:

• LinkGate DecRadio and EncRadio (multi-frequency) in the 10 or 500 mW versions. A range of up to 9 km (in the 500 Mw version) guarantees it can be used in the different sporting disciplines. The system makes it possible to vary the radio frequency to operate on. External radios can also be connected on request.
• DecRadio SF and EncRadio SF (single frequency) in the 10 or 500 mW versions. A range of up to 9 km (in the 500 Mw version) allows a wide range of use. The radio frequency used for operation cannot be varied. EncRadio SF is also installed in the Polifemo-Radio SF photocells.
• DecRadio Light only in the 10 mW version. With a range of about 400 metres, it is the ideal instrument for training in team sports, light athletics, etc. The EncRadio-Light transmitter is embedded only in the Polifemo-Radio-Light photocells.

The new Microgate reflection photocell Polifemo is outstanding for its attractive design, which was conceived to meet the requirements of accident-prevention safety norms. Its unique optical design guarantees a high range and greater accuracy of measurement. Special optical and electronic features guarantee maximum reliability also in poor external light conditions.
The Polifemo photocells are available in normal format or with the embedded LinkGate radio transmission system.

Display of functionality: this is what Microgate display boards offer.

The modular LED  MICROTAB and MICROGRAPH display boards have been designed and created to offer the right solution for every need. Their modular system makes it possible to quickly reach the desired size and being light and easy to handle, they are simple to transport.

The correct acquisition of the start must be guaranteed. Microgate products meet the specific requirements of the various sports with products of very high quality, both for the acquisition of the event and communication with the athlete.

The new MicroCom intercom makes possible perfect audio connection between the start and finish and two or more intermediate stations. The connection can use the same line used for impulse transmission of time events so communication can continue unaffected also while contact is closed (when the start gate is open).
A distinguishing characteristic of the MicroCOM intercom is its small size (9x6x2.5cm). It is supplied together with an attachment clip.

MicroCOM is powered by 2 rechargeable NiMh batteries which guarantee several days of autonomous functioning in normal conditions of use. Normal AA batteries may also be used. The device has useful auxiliary functions:
 

• Possibility of disconnecting the microphone with a key and just listening (useful when operating in noisy areas)
• Volume control with the keys ‹ + › and ‹-›

The intercom can be supplied with three different kinds of headsets:
